What Is Forming Your Life?
Share Your Story, Shine Your Light
Scripture: Ephesians 1:5, 1:13, 2:8–10, 4:1–3; John 13:34–35
Sermon Description
What is shaping the way you see yourself, make decisions, and live your life? Through Todd and Kayla's testimony, we're reminded that following Jesus is more than simply attending church or checking boxes—it's allowing the Gospel to transform every part of who we are.
While the world tells us to build our identity, create our security, and prove our worth, God's Word reminds us that we are chosen, secure in Christ, and created with purpose. When we truly understand who we are in Jesus, our lives should reflect that truth through the way we love, serve, and walk alongside others.
The question isn't whether something is shaping your life, but whether it's the world or the Gospel.
Action Steps
-
Examine what's influencing you. Take time to identify where you may be allowing success, approval, possessions, or circumstances to define your identity, security, or worth.
-
Find your identity in Christ. Spend time in Ephesians 1–2 and remind yourself that you are chosen, loved, and created with a God-given purpose. Your worth isn't something you have to earn.
-
Let your faith shape your actions. Look for opportunities this week to demonstrate humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love in your relationships.
-
Grow in community. Following Jesus was never meant to be done alone. Take a step toward building relationships with people who will encourage you, challenge you, and help you grow in your faith.
Reflection Question
Is the Gospel simply something you believe, or is it truly shaping the way you live?
